1 · CHOOSE A MODE

2 · ☆ FAVORITE
The star pins a mode to FAVORITES for faster access from HOME and CREATE. Tap the star again to remove it. Favorites do not change the project itself.
3 · AUTO NEW
AUTO NEW makes Zine Machine create a fresh project in that mode automatically when the app opens. Only one AUTO NEW can be active. Choosing it replaces a Diary HOME startup, and vice versa.
4 · TEMPLATE LIBRARY
Templates stored in this browser appear here. USE TEMPLATE starts from its saved defaults. Templates contain workflow/settings, not the photographs from an old project.
5 · LOAD .ZINETPL
Open a portable template file from another device or backup. The loaded template becomes available for the current workflow and can also be kept locally.
6 · CREATE TEMPLATE
Build a reusable setup from empty modules. Presets can stay editable, selected settings can be locked, and modules can be omitted from the guided workflow.

Lifts dark tones for better detail in printed black & white
photographs. Original photographs are never modified.

Print the resulting PDF at 100% / ACTUAL SIZE. The selected print size is

HOME PRINT
Create a separate home-print PDF. The original zine, its layout and the normal zine PDF are never changed.

Cut the sheet only twice: once vertically and once horizontally through the centre.
Source paths are assigned when photographs are imported in the PHOTOGRAPHS section.
Each photograph keeps its own source when it is reordered or saved in a project.

QUICK ZINE uses a native A4 landscape layout with 1 photograph per page. Title and photographer form the front page; uploaded cover images are shown only on an optional COVER REFERENCE page. A 6 mm alternating gutter keeps text and photographs away from the stapled edge. For duplex printing the PDF always has an even page count; if necessary, a blank final page is added automatically.
Run the universal duplex test once on an unfamiliar printer. Print at A4 landscape, duplex and 100% / actual size. If BACK 2 is upside down when the sheet is turned like a book, choose the other duplex flip setting in the printer driver.
SHOW / PRESENTATION
Show the loaded photographs immediately in Zine Machine: one photograph at a time, FIT, no crop, no captions and no PDF viewer.
The viewer adapts automatically to portrait or landscape screens and keeps only a small presentation margin.
